Welcome
I’m Vesna Mitchell — a new writer, spiritual companion, and deeply feeling woman navigating midlife with an open heart and a quiet faith.
My work weaves together contemplative Christianity, somatic healing, and expressive writing - with a dash of coaching. I’m drawn to the places where pain meets presence. Where burnout, grief, or spiritual disillusionment become doorways into deeper belonging with God and Self.
I created A Living, Breathing Faith as a space for those who are hungry for something real—something rooted in grace, nourished by mystery, and expressed through an honest, embodied walk with God.
This is not about perfect theology or polished spirituality. It’s about holding the tension, practicing presence, and remembering we’re not alone.
Why You’re Here
Maybe you’ve found your way here because life feels heavy right now.
Maybe the noise of the world has grown too loud.
Maybe you’re longing for something quieter.
I created this space because I was, too. In all truth, I still am.
After years of striving—through cancer, divorce, career burnout, the unravelling of relationships, and healing from trauma—I came to a point where the way I was living no longer worked. What followed was a slow undoing. A return to stillness. A reorientation toward God.
My intention is to create a quiet space to reflect on how contemplative Christianity is reshaping my life. I’m not writing from a place of arrival but from the middle of things. After years of striving, burnout, and spiritual seeking, I found myself longing for something slower, deeper, and more honest.
Contemplative faith gave me language for what I’ve always sensed: that God is not “out there,” waiting for me to improve, but here, now, in every breath. That grace is not earned. That presence changes everything.
This Substack is where I explore what it means to live a living, breathing faith—not in theory, but in the rawness of everyday life. Some days, that looks like prayer. On other days, it looks like silence, grief, or unexpected joy.
I write about what I’m learning, what I’m unlearning, and how this path continues to shape me from the inside out. I hope it offers something to you as well.
